Created by two veteran NYC mixologists with a shared love of dystopian science fiction, Jupiter Disco is what happens when you cross a world-class cocktail lounge with the Star Wars cantina. Tucked behind an inconspicuous industrial door on Flushing Avenue, this retro-futuristic, cyberpunk-themed bar feels like stepping into the neon-drenched sets of Blade Runner or Dune. The dark, intimate room is decked out with cathode-ray tube monitors displaying the drink menu and rugged, industrial decor that perfectly nails the "scavenger" aesthetic of 1980s sci-fi.But beyond the incredible set design, the real stars of the show are the drinks and the audio. Despite the divey feel, the cocktail program is top-tier, featuring complex, mixologist-crafted drinks. The venue is also a serious audiophile haven, boasting a massive, custom Danley sound system and a beautiful analog Condesa rotary mixer in the DJ booth. With local and touring DJs spinning heavy rotations of disco, house, synthwave, and indie-dance, it is one of the best—and undeniably coolest—places in Brooklyn to grab an amazing drink and hit the dance floor.
